Caught-The-Federal-Leviathan-Red-Handed-Ping!
(Pardon the pun.)
All this work reflects a core 'Belief': that when you choose a home, you do not just choose a home. You choose a community and the choices available in that community including how healthy and safe that community is. With President Obamas leadership and this Environmental Justice strategy, were committing to working together with federal, state, and local partners to ensure that every neighborhood is vibrant and safe, and provides a healthy future for our children. [My future grandchildren and great-grandchildren just can't wait to pay for this!]
Is this satire? It should be!
I am sick up to here with “the poor”.
The “war on poverty” is a “quagmire”, and it’s time to pull out.
I want my money back.
Sounds like Mayor Villaraigosas State of the City message given a couple of days ago. But while everyone is looking at the cost of the bicycle paths, the dedicated bus roads, the subways and trains, what they fail to see is that this is designed to provide high-rise government sponsored housing.
Traditionally, here in Los Angeles, apartment buildings were limited to 2 stories. Not anymore. As I drive thru the city I see 4 and 6 story apartments going up. The zoning has changed so that many properties are allowed to build a second home on their12,000 sq ft lot. And as a recent WSJ news piece points out, California Declares War on Suburbia, April 12, 2012. The typical 4 houses per acre is giving way to transit villages with 30 houses per acre.
Another aspect of these new mega apartments is the senior housing. When we are told that there will be subsidized senior housing, who can argue with that, it is not limited to senior housing, the seniors are complaining that they are giving the housing to drug dealers and users.
Then there is the mayor of Lancaster, he was on our local newstalk radio telling us that preferential Section 8 housing is going to ex-cons. In many cases new 4 bedroom homes with a swimming pool, homes that the city took over when they were foreclosed on.
It is not the cost of the transportation, it is the denser cities we should be looking at.
If the answer is, “Yes,” just read an American newspaper any day of the week.
Because Clinton's Executive Order 12892 (CRA) wasn't damaging enough.......
**** where weve reduced the number of children with lead poisoning by 75 percent over the last decade.****
In my 65 years, most of when lead was in everything, I have NEVER known anyone to have lead poisoning, except out of the barrel of a gun.
***increased air pollution,****
Did this dum bass even live before 1970 when there was NOTHING to stop any pollution? I remember smoke stacks belching smoke, sulfur dioxide, raw sewage dumped in rivers, local city dumps constantly burning, smelly dead animal rendering plants, rivers coated with waste oil, one even caught on fire.
