I was stationed at Ft.Carson (first duty station-about to be rotated out for Ft.Sam Houston and advanced training.) These were the Patriots we held as model-and as everything we hoped would never happen to us-or anyone we knew. I first began to suspect even as I still respect John McCain for being among them—And I first heard of John F.Kerry while at Carson.Saw his treason—and that of Hanoi Jane Fonda. Where I first heard of the Court Martial of Wm.Calley.These were the names that shaped my time in service.

Ft. Carson, eh?

Small world.

I wasn’t Army, but did spend June of ‘72 out at Camp Red Devil going through their RECONDO school. Darned-near killed me.

I recall coming back out of the woods after a four-day patrol and seeing a small article in the newspaper about some goofy break-in at a hotel/office building in the District of Criminals.
