Since there is very little difference between Obama and Romney, you have to factor into the equation the fact that if Romney is elected, the RINO / dem lite positions that he will push will cause a lot of infighting with the GOP. Conservatives will not want to support dem lite positions but Romney will use the bully pulpit to push his agenda.

Better to have Obama that can be opposed in both the House and the Senate on principled issues than to have Romney who really can't be opposed because he will be the de facto party leader. Better the enemy without than the one within.

Also, for the long term GOP direction, the party bosses need to learn that they cant win elections with a RINO. You simply MUST have the support of your base to win elections.

Maybe if Obama didn't consider himself king that would work. He's been doing whatever he wants via executive orders and directives, so there really isn't any containing him.

Conversely, Romney would probably be easily contained just like we did Bush.

If they didn't get it with McCain, they never will. The GOPe insistence on Romney is further proof. Sorry to say it, but the only solution here is 3rd party. They see a mass exodus and they'll start making with the red carpet again like 2010 when the Tea Party kicked so much booty.

I’ve come to the conclusion that “moderate-rinos” ARE the republican base. You and me are the “fringe”.
