Polls prove it, too, and have proven it for years:
Conservatives Remain the Largest Ideological Group in U.S.Overall, the nation has grown more polarized over the past decade
by Lydia SaadPRINCETON, NJ -- Political ideology in the U.S. held steady in 2011, with 40% of Americans continuing to describe their views as conservative, 35% as moderate, and 21% as liberal. This marks the third straight year that conservatives have outnumbered moderates, after more than a decade in which moderates mainly tied or outnumbered conservatives. http://www.gallup.com/poll/152021/Conservatives-Remain-Largest-Ideological-Group.aspx
If the Mitt and Obama fought over the 56% of America that is moderate to liberal, that would leave the 40% of American conservatives with a victory by plurality.
This is why united conservatives could forge a party that would spell the end of the GOP.
I would rather be beaten and be a man than to be elected and be a little puppy dog. I have always supported measures and principles and not men. I have acted fearless[ly] and independent and I never will regret my course. I would rather be politically buried than to be hypocritically immortalized.-- Davy Crockett
God save us from the little puppy dogs of the Republican Party.

LOL - yeah, there’s been SO much unanimity here on FR.
I too have seen that poll. Lets put that in context then. Since there is no time whatsoever to make a new party,to organize 40% of the electorate behind another candidate all we would be doing at this point in time is putting a man with no interests of mine in his heart back into office.
a 3rd party? I’ve wanted one since the 1970’s. By all means go ahead and start the work today for 2016. You will need that much time and more. Today? Not happening. and as i have said to you in a few posts by now i am not putting that person back in office.
