Republican White House candidate Mitt Romney said Friday that global warming is real and that human activity is among the causes.
Reuters reports from New Hampshire:
Presidential hopeful Mitt Romney broke with Republican orthodoxy on Friday by saying he believes that humans are responsible, at least to some extent, for climate change.
"I believe the world is getting warmer, and I believe that humans have contributed to that," he told a crowd of about 200 at a town hall meeting in Manchester, N.H.
"It's important for us to reduce our emissions of pollutants and greenhouse gases that may be significant contributors."
The story later adds:
The United States cannot go it alone in attempting to trim emissions levels and give a free pass to countries such as China and Brazil, Romney said. "It's not called American warming, it's called global warming," he said.

Like I said in Previous post Hey go away dude, I checked your posts here and elsewhere, I believe you to be an operative for the Obama crowd, youve been railing against Romney for the last 2 years and you did the same against Palin and McCain, but the thing is in all the posts you put out, there has never been a negative word against Obama, or the democratic party. It seems to me you are trying to lead people not to vote, to stay home. Maybe you should follow President Reagans Rule, the 11th commandment which says, Dont speak ill of another Republican. thats all you ever do, if you are, a plant, go away, write your stuff on MSNBC
If you have thoroughly reviewed my posts then you also know I have had all kinds of positive posts about Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, and Santorum, and you would also know I regularly post on the religion forum.
And yet nothing in your accusation goes to prove me wrong about either McCain or Romney now, does it?!

Bless you SoConPubbie. Our Founders would be proud of you. Please don't let up in your efforts to expose an enemy of Liberty and our Constitution that happens to be running for the GOP nod (aka mitt the fraud).
Thanks.
Seems I'm starting to get to the compromisers and GOP-E plants since I'm now being accused of being a plant for the left.

Not going away dude!
This is a conservative site, not a Republican site.
We fight for conservative principles on this site, and for the Republicans, when they align with those principles, both McCain and Romney are/were too far left to be fought for on this site.
Read Jim Robinson's statement here if you don't believe me:
In our continuing fight for freedom, for America and our constitution and against totalitarianism, socialism, tyranny, terrorism, etc., Free Republic stands firmly on the side of right, i.e., the conservative side. Believing that the best defense is a strong offense, we (myself and those whom I'm trying to attract to FR) support the strategy of taking the fight to the enemy as opposed to allowing the enemy the luxury of conducting their attacks on us at home on their terms and on their schedule.
Therefore, we wholeheartedly support the Bush Doctrine of pre-emptive strikes on known terrorist states and organizations that are believed to present a clear threat to our freedom or national security. We support our military, our troops and our Commander-in-Chief and we oppose turning control of our government back over to the liberals and socialists who favor appeasement, weakness, and subserviency. We do not believe in surrendering to the terrorists as France, Germany, Russia and Spain have done and as Kerry, Kennedy, Clinton and the Democrats, et al, are proposing.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is pro-God, pro-life, pro-family, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, pro-gun, pro-limited government, pro-private property rights, pro-limited taxes, pro-capitalism, pro-national defense, pro-freedom, and-pro America. We oppose all forms of liberalism, socialism, fascism, pacifism, totalitarianism, anarchism, government enforced atheism, abortionism, feminism, homosexualism, racism, wacko environmentalism, judicial activism, etc. We also oppose the United Nations or any other world government body that may attempt to impose its will or rule over our sovereign nation and sovereign people. We believe in defending our borders, our constitution and our national sovereignty.
Free Republic is private property. It is not a government project, nor is it funded by government or taxpayer money. We are not a publicly owned entity nor are we an IRS tax-free non-profit organization. We pay all applicable taxes on our income. We are not connected to or funded by any political party, news agency, or any other entity. We sell no merchandise, product or service, and we offer no subscriptions or paid memberships. We accept no paid advertising or promotions. We are funded solely by donations (non tax deductible gifts) from our readers and participants.
We aggressively defend our God-given and first amendment guaranteed rights to free speech, free press, free religion, and freedom of association, as well as our constitutional right to control the use and content of our own personal private property. Despite the wailing of the liberal trolls and other doom & gloom naysayers, we feel no compelling need to allow them a platform to promote their repugnant and obnoxious propaganda from our forum. Free Republic is not a liberal debating society. We are conservative activists dedicated to defending our rights, defending our constitution, defending our republic and defending our traditional American way of life.
Our God-given liberty and freedoms are not negotiable.
May God bless and protect our men and women in uniform fighting for our freedom and may God continue to bless America.

What's your point?
It's his record.
Has he changed positions? AGAIN?

I’m not a Romney fan. I am a Herman Cain fan.
But....I do believe Romney is a 100% better choice than to re-elect the sitting president...
Obama is a malignancy that HAS to be cut out...
Even with his faults, I would rather have Romney than another term of Obama....

So, if Romney was an arch-denier you would support him? Or are you just creating your own hot air? We got bigger things to worry about than that; AGW without Obama is done as a concept.

Apparently you have not been paying attention where Romney is concerned.
This isn't just about AGW, this is about everything about romney.
1. His support for Abortion
2. His implementation of Gay Marriage in MA.
3. His forcing Gay Adoptionin MA.
4. His support for Amnesty for Illegal Aliens
5. His refusal to support the Bush Tax Cuts.
6. His raising taxes/fees 300% in MA.
7. His support for the Brady Bill
8. His implementation of an "Assault Weapons Ban" in MA.
9. His implementation of a Cap and Trade system in MA.
10. His implementation of RomneyCare a socialist HealthCare program replete with an Individual Mandate and $50 dollar Abortions.
11. His constant lying about his record
12. His character assasination of both Newt and Rick
Get real, if it was just about AGW, Romney would have wrapped up the nomination months ago.
To: Mike Darancette; Envisioning
You did look at the dates, right?
Last June.
Has he change his position since then?
If he has, why would you believe the lies of Romney when he said at CPAC in January this year:
1. "I have always been Pro-Life"
2. "I was a severely conservative governer of MA"
Do you really expect conservatives to take Romney at his word given his documented record of Progressive Liberalism coupled with his documented record of consistantly lying?
To: SoConPubbie
SoConPubbie is so right! At what date do you declare that Romney is changing position for political points rather than that he really has had a change of heart?????? I may have taken him seriously if some of his prior beliefs/views were from a couple of decades or so ago...but when he changes so many of his views just recently (2011), it stinks to high heaven that he is ‘acting’ more conservative than he truly is! This guy is a complete fraud!

Thanks for a great list. However, I think it just shows that unless we run a more liberal type of Republican (like McCain was/is) there is no chance of winning the election.

In that spirit, you obviously don't know much about how government works. Congress writes bills. Not the Governor or the President. If a liberal congress from Massachusetts sends Mittens liberal drivel, he'll usually sign it. If a conservative congress passes conservative bills do you really think Mittens will refuse to sign the? That he'll veto them? If you think Romney has that much spine that makes one of us. The key to saving our country lies with the House and Senate this time around. Romney is no Reagan, that's for sure. Am I damning him with faint praise? You betcha.

And yet when Bush was in charge, the GOP congress went along with every moderate thing he wanted except Amnesty.
The President is the head of his party, he sets the agenda, of course if the congress is truly conservative, they can force his hand.
Do you really believe Boehner, Cantor, et all are going to push him to the right?
Do you really believe a GOP-E that has absolutely covered up his record and provides the money for campaigns for the Congress members is going to all anything Tea-Party related to come to pass?
They just did everything in their power to make sure no conservative got elected.
Furthermore, he didn't sign those bills because he is weak, he signed those left-wing progressive bills because he is a Progressive Liberal at heart.

If the 2012 election is ANYTHING like the 2010 election, and we add to the conservatives that were elected then, we have a shot. If we don’t, then we are in some serious trouble. Since it looks like no one was able to knock Romney out I come back to my original statement; it is up to Congress to save us. IMHO that is the situation we are in and our only hope. So, I will be trying to help get conservatives elected in the House and Senate. And I will hold my nose and vote for Mittens, because the alternative is much worse.

Read the post I responded to. He thought it had just happened in the last week. Doesn’t matter anymore, since Romney has sewn up the nomination. Apparently, not enough Republican voters cared about his position on global warming to change their votes.
