Jani was one of my 80’s idols...
But seeing one of his very last live performances before he was fired (Rock the Bayou, 2008), it was obvious he was heading for disaster.
He was completely wasted, couldn’t remember his lyrics, and wanted to end an hour and a half set after 3 songs.
Erik and Joey had to talk him through each song before they sang it. It was sad. But it was coming.
That's just sad! I hate wasted talent! Although, being a drummer basically playing in a cover band, sometimes I have to sit back and help the vocalist come in at the right time on "Break On Through."
Every d*** time he screws some part of that song up, and he's not ever messed up!
