To set the record straight, I voted for Newt. But I went to a Mike Turner (R-Cong. OH) fundraiser the other night. He's a big Mitt supporter, was among the first to endorse him. BTW, for those already screaming RINO, Mike voted AGAINST raising the debt ceiling and has maneuvered to head the House Armed Services Committee to fight against the cuts in the military.
Turner thinks Romney is a "problem solver" and "manager." Obviously, that means he's not an ideologue or polemicist or visionary. That's both good and bad. Harding was excellent at cutting the debt and he was no visionary. So I can see a hundred ways Romney could be a successful president, but only one way the U.S. ceases to exist as a truly free nation---with Obama's victory.
I'll actually be estatic at a Harding president. As bad as his rep is and as good as Coolidge's rep is, most of the benefits of Coolidge was helped by Harding's work. He's the epidomy of not a good guy but a good president. These days, I'll take that in a minute.
If Romney's a Harding, I'll take that. I expect him to be a Clinton myself.
