They work fine.
They're reliable.
They're almost always light and handy.
They're OK on accuracy through the primitive iron sights.
You can mount a scope/sight to a Mini-14, but that's no guarantee you're improving your accuracy.
They use proprietary and spendy magazines.
The inexpensive magazines not made by Ruger can be lousy.
They're not very configurable.
They haven't got a reliable parts supply outside of Ruger if you break something.
They're overpriced compared to AR15s.
The Ruger 'accurized' versions are comically overpriced.
There's been some quality issues with the Mini-14 in recent years. Do your research.
After all these years, Ruger finally makes an AR15 clone.
No manufacturer wants to make a Mini-14 clone.
