So just what was his punk-ass doing in that neighborhood that night at that hour? Is George Zimmerman actually a hero?

There, fixed it.
I don't have a problem with any of what you just said, but there is still no evidence that he was doing anything wrong. He was talking to his girlfriend on a bluetooth headset while returning to his father's house (fine, his father's fiance's house) from the 7/11. Suspicious or not, he was not doing anything wrong.
Well, there is at least one report of this kid with "no history of violence" beating down a bus driver. And now there are eyewitness account of this "kid" being on top of Zimmerman, banging his head against the concrete.
And that one report is a twitter screen grab showing a post by "Tray's Big Bruh"????? I don't use twitter but I'm pretty sure that if I did I wouldn't reference my little brother's name in my username. I would be interested in this story if if it can be authenticated by someone but as it stands, it's pretty flimsy.
Well, if Martin though his life was in danger, he made a bad decision to attack Zimmerman and try to do a beat down...
I'd probably make the same bad decision if some dude with an earring was following me around in his car at night and then got out of his car to pursue me on foot. I guess that means I deserve to get shot. Good to know. Should I ever find myself in a situation like that in the future I'll make sure to engage him in pleasant conversation so he doesn't feel threatened.
Happened in the early afternoon. My Wife came home, walked from the garage through the house to the backyard and noticed the French Door to our bedroom was pried open.
She had no idea if the perp was still in the house. She called 911 and it took the cops ten minutes to get there while she cowered in the backyard holding the new puppy.
I wish I had a nosy Neighborhood Watch guy around that day. Nobody saw or heard a thing.
March 27, 2012 The Daily Caller obtains Trayvon Martins tweetsThe image attached to the Twitter account when Martin died matches one that has been widely distributed. That photograph of Martin depicts him smiling, gold-toothed, into a camera in front of an electronic dartboard.
Or you could do what Trayvon did and start beating on the guy. You sure do make a lot of assumptions for someone who doesn't like assumptions.
There was an account that Zimmerman lost track of Martin, just before he was confronted by Martin. Martin may have feared that Zimmerman was an undercover cop.
May be. Maybe not.
And how do you know this??????
I don't know this. Obviously, very few people know anything about this case. But it's certainly possible to make an educated guess. Common sense would dictate that when a strange man is following you around at night you might want to be ready for trouble.
Zimmerman would have people believe that Martin just attacked him for no apparent reason, even though he is the one who admits on the record that he is following Martin around the neighborhood. Why would anyone possibly buy that?
Oh, wow. That was so much fun I almost forgot what we were talking about, lol.
Was a right good joke. Yes, as things come about bit by bit, almost reminds you of when the left wanted to accuse that guy who shot Gabby Giffords of being a Republican and then horror of horrors, he was not only a nut but a left winger...ooops!
Stop the presses!
Think I’ll go back and listen to Hello young lovers:) Thank you for brightening up my night:)
why would zimmerman attack treyboy when he had called the police and knew they were on their way?
Why didnt treyboy call the police if he felt he was in danger? he had his cell phone out talking to his girlfriend it would have been easy to hang up and dial 9-11...
“I’d probably make the same bad decision if some dude with an earring was following me around in his car at night and then got out of his car to pursue me on foot. “
If you start beating on someone, there is always the danger they are armed. Deterring violent attacks on people is one of the pluses of the right to bear arms. So my advice to you would be if a strange person is following you and they make you nervous, get to a well lit area with other people around. Attacking them is risky business.
Ultimately whether Zimmerman is in the wrong or not depends on whether or not he was attacked by Martin. If Martin attacked him first and was in fact smashing Zimmerman’s head into concrete, the what was Zimmerman suppose to do? If Zimmerman attacked Martin or physically tried to detain him, then the situation is certainly different. So far the police think the evidence points to Zimmerman being attacked including apparently an eye witness.
So after losing Zimmerman, which we do know, common sense tells Martin to double back and confront Zimmerman because being followed was so scary.
Thank you for the link. The story did not tell why Martin was searched for the pot pipe and baggy of remnant pot. There had to be something he did to cause the search. It is this third suspension that caused him to go to his dad’s place.
I live in Memphis. Obviously you don’t.
To my knowledge, there is nothing that documents Zimmerman following Martin around the neighborhood in his truck prior to exiting his vehicle when Martin ran, and while on the phone to Police. There is every reason to believe that when Zimmerman first calls the Sanford Police Department, his truck is parked and he is sitting there observing Trayvon Martin. There are no sounds from the engine, or any sounds that might indicate he is moving, even slowly. Unless you have documentation showing otherwise, the only thing we know is that he was coming back from a personal errand and he happened upon Martin. From that point up until the phone call, we have no idea exactly what his actions were. If you have information otherwise, I'd be happy to see it.
I agree with most of your post, and especially the bolded part. I think you're right that if Martin attacked him first then Zimmerman is entitled to claim self defense. However, the eye witness only saw that Martin was winning the fight. As far as I know, he did not see who started it. It's certainly possible that Zimmerman started something he couldn't finish.
I think this comes down to Zimmerman's credibility, which is best assessed by a jury of his peers that actually gets to hear what he has to say.
And even if Martin struck first I still think the attacks on his character are completely gratuitous. A lot of people in that situation would strike first.
This is another great post. However, the fact remains that we should do everything possible to judge this case on its individual merits, aside from any political/racial issues.
How about I drop you off in North Memphis at midnight and you can tell me all about your night.
?
Really? You would just up and coldcock somebody because they were watching you? Maybe you need an anger management class or something.
