Another CW will probably cost me my life. So be it, I'd rather die fighting back than this wimpy "political" war that we are losing. Bring it. If you don't think our ancestors, if in the same position we find ourselves in now, wouldn't have revolted/seceded already you very ignorant.
Secession does not cause war. the reaction to by the Federals is what causes a war in that scenario. They won't fight. They would love to ditch the south and fly-over plains mountain states. To them it would be good riddance. It would free them to build there Socialist Utopia.
I'm not shrinking from necessity--and our ancestors tried every form of relief prior to secession, first from the English (over a three percent tax rate), then from the Union. One worked out pretty well for a little while, the other, not so well, and I had relatives in both.
If it happens, it happens, and Yep, it'll probably be the end of me, too.
But I have noticed there are a number of people who seem to be looking forward to they know not what.
War isn't glory, it is brutal, and the civillians always suffer the most.

While the coasts might say "good riddance", that would only last until they realized the grain produced here, the oil, coal, electricity, natural gas, iron ore, steel, and other products (especially agricultural and energy minerals) were now 'trade items', IF we decied to trade with them.
Then the rats would decide they 'deserved' those resources, and the S would HTF.
The only means to stop that would be extreme, by any standard, and would, of necessity, make 'shock and awe' look like a church picnic. Nothing Less would suffice.
If we can regain the Republic by peaceful means, let's do so. It would be preferable to the slaughter that is the alternative.
