Besides, nowadays, M and F aren't adequate designations are they?

Now we also have things like:

MWWTOBKABBFBKMBP (Male who wants to officially be known as born female but kept male body parts)

FWWTOBKABMBKFBP (Female who wants to officially be known as born male but kept female body parts)

MWWTOBKABBFARMBP (Male who wants to officially be known as born female and removed male body parts)

FWWTOBKABMARFBP (Female who wants to officially be known as born male and removed female body parts)

And many, many other variations yet to come before the courts.

So while I didn't use your suggested change, I did drop the Gender, and made some changes (see below):
