You might be correct with respect to the Paul supporters but internal polling in recent races suggest that if Gingrich drops off, his voters (mainly Tea Partiers and males) will migrate to Santorum.

I’m thinking perhaps the best way to keep Romney out is for Newt to stay in all events with proportional delegate allocation. However, in winner take all states, I think Newt should throw in with Santorum and try to beat Romney in those states.

Thank you. I am most interested in seeing this data. The main and alternative media has been nearly silent on this matter. I'm looking for data everywhere and can't find it.

I'm trying to assess the electorate on past behavior and have no current data on the GOP "second choice, committed second choice".

It would be wonderful if you have that on a state basis.
