I don’t know what that means, but, as I understand the military command structure, the superior soldier is supposed to look out for the soldiers underneath them and ensure that orders given can be obeyed with good fath that obeying them will not cause an elisted soldier to suffer peanlties for following orders.

According to the details given in the story, the soldiers simply obeyed orders and the orders given were not inherently illegal or immoral unto themselves.

Therefore, there should be no consequences for having followed orders.
