As the GOP nomination process drags on, odds against Republicans seem to be increasing: Voter turnout has dropped, and independents are fleeing Mitt Romney. Turns out, however, that the lengthy contest is just what the former GOP head sought in the first place. "I wanted a brokered convention," Michael Steele tells Mother Jones. It was "one of my goals" in rearranging the Republican nomination process: Steele hoped his party could emulate the excitement of the Democrats' 2008 primary battle.

Yeah, the guy who presided over the 2010 sweep was a failure. Was the 2010 sweep because of Steele? Or in spite of him? As a member of the GOP-E, I would go with in spite of.
The 2010 sweep happened much to the chagrin of the republican elite. It happened because of us tea partiers. Recall what Trent Lott said about co-opting any tea party freshmen who made it up to capitol hill. These republicans are NOT our friends nor our allies.

Exactly. It certainly isn’t conservatives who are clamouring for more from the Bushies. It’s the GOP-E who wants to continue the Bush dynasty.

Steele was on Bill Mahr the other night nodding and laughing while Mahr poked fun at Republicans.
