[Liar] Rossi Tells Florida Bureau He Has No U.S. Factory, No Nuclear Reactions

Rossi has been caught in some whopper lies.
Yesterday, the New Energy Times published an extremely damning report regarding Andrea Rossi and his E-Cat:
Andrea Rossi, the inventor of the Energy Catalyzer, told an inspector from the Florida Bureau of Radiation Control that he has no factory in the United States and that no nuclear reactions occur in his devices. Rossi's statements contradict nearly everything he has said in the last year about his claims of a factory and his development of a low-energy nuclear reaction device.

Look at my post #16.
Sorry, my Sarcasm-o-meter seems to be on the blink today.

You are experiencing Sarchasm.
That is the gap (or chasm) between the person being sarcastic and the person who thinks they are serious.

I think the fact that people still believe in Rossi, would break anyone's sarcasm-o-meter; not to mention your belief-o-meter and your sympathy-o-meter which these unfortunate believers need after they're forced to concede that Rossi is a scammer.

That is interesting. Thanks for your reply.
Comparing Rossi to Thomas Edison...That puts Rossi in some very rare company.
I think it is important in science to decouple the science from the scientist, as you are doing (a tiny bit) with Rossi and LENR. Rossi could enable the decoupling of this technology from his tarnished name with a simple independent test.
Until the technology Ecat/science LENR is decoupled from Rossi, I am pegged on scam for Rossi and open minded on LENR, as a practical energy source, pending scientific evidence.

Just because Edison was eccentric doesn't mean everyone who acts eccentrically is another Edison.
In particular, Edison has been a perfect excuse for con men who can't otherwise explain their behavior. As you noted, Rossi could clear things up any time he wants to, but he refuses to do so. The notion that he is somehow being a shrewd businessman by making himself look like a con man is ridiculous.
He is following the exact same script as every other "free energy" con man in history (going back at least to the 1880s, that I've found). Here are some of my favorite examples. Read them and you'll be amazed at how much their scams look like what Rossi is doing!
- John Keely. He ran a "free energy" scam for over 20 years in the late 18th Century. His story is so much like Rossi's, it's scary.
- Carl Tilley. Notice that Sterling Allan was a big supporter of Tilley, just as he was with Rossi, until he finally realized that he had been duped.
- Madison Priest. Note that Priest conned tens of millions of dollars from such companies as Intel, General Dynamics and Blockbuster Video.

"Is there a reasonable explanation for the seemingly inconsistent statements by Rossi coming soon?" Actually, yes. The hypothesis that fits more of the total data set than any other is that Rossi has indeed made a breakthrough in LENR, and is also running a scam......but the people being scammed are his potential and actual competitors. Johnny B. and the rest of the skeptopaths will not have any other idea put forth than "Rossi is a crook, and everything he's ever done has been one scam or another".
To: Wonder Warthog

LOL! Wow, you're going down swinging!
That's a ridiculous theory. If he really had a breakthrough in LENR there would be no reason to run a scam company to try to profit off of it. That is a very paranoid way of thinking.
None of Rossi's dog & pony shows were sufficient to eliminate the possibility of fraud. Given that all of his business dealings are obviously fraudulent, the most reasonable theory is that the invention part is fraudulent as well.
But some people never learn.
To: Wonder Warthog
"Rossi is a crook, and everything he's ever done has been one scam or another".
Well, that
is a true statement.
Petroldragon was a fraud. The Thermoelectric Convertor for the Army never worked, even though Rossi allegedly did some testing at the University of New Hampshire (for which there are no actual records) claiming that it did work.
He was a jewelry manufacturer in Italy in between Petroldragon and the Army, but even that got him in trouble for forging gold sales documents.
And there's the phony engineering degree from the diploma mill.
Yup, that pretty much covers it.
To: Johnny B.
I have read most of these (thank you). I personally consider Rossi to be a (repeat) scam artist.
His actions are those of a scammer, not of a scientist or engineer.
I would not put him in the class of Thomas Edison. If all this turns out to be genuine - then and only then.

Only in your nutcase interpretation of the facts. There "are" other possibilities which you simply refuse to acknowledge exist. I suggest that you develop your own "seagull ping list", and then you and the rest of the skeptopaths can discuss scams.
