Well, it certainly seems to have changed quite a bit from when I first began reading it. Even as recently as the late seventies the popular reference to it in the Russian populace was defined by a well-known saying: "The only 'Truth' in 'Pravda' is in the spaces between the printed lines."

The jury is still out as to whether that lot is indeed now changed enough to actually have some journalistic integrity or is still controlled somewhat behind the scenes.

Still, under new guidelines or old, it is generally safe to assume that any story that makes the USA look poorly will make it onto its pages. I do hope that they are indeed living up to their name now, however. Your being printed therein certainly caught some attention on this end. (As did Laz's oh-so-late offer which I hastened to challenge, of course). *grin*

Unfortunately the criticism in this case is well and truly earned. Its a damn sorry state of affairs.
