I must humbly disagree with El Rushbo... unless the ad time has already been sold to another client... I feel Rush should forgive. Sleep Train made a mistake...as did he... time to kiss and make up!

I must humbly disagree with El Rushbo...

...it’s Rush’s show. He does what he wants. People think Rush has a boss. His only boss are advertisers. Rush just denied his boss AND made himself a hero, once again, with his listeners. What an excellent example of the free market!

That's why Rush has the golden microphone and a 20 million strong audience and you don't. I'm sure he forgives...but that doesn't mean he has to let them have access to his huge and prosperous audience. They blew it...let them find another venue.

Sleep Train made a mistake.

Yes, they did. But where is their national apology. You can't expect forgiveness unless you ask for it. They wanting to get back on his show doesn't speak of an apology - it's speaks of their pocket.

No, his priority is loyalty to his audience NOT the advertisers. The advertisers PAY for access to his audience. Letting Sleep Train back in would be putting them before the audience. Rush had little choice here but to tell them to pound sand.

That's absurd. They made a political decision on a business policy and the should be made to pay for their mistake. If the stockholders don't like it, they should fire their CEO and board.

To quote from the movie Jurassic Park, "I don't blame people for their mistakes, but I do ask that they pay for them."

"Sleep Train made a mistake" The big problem is that Rush voiced their commercial for a local market. Rush can't stop the local station from running a Sleep Train commercial during his program. However, he Can refuse to allow Sleep Train to air the commercial with His voice.

Limbaugh did not make a mistake (except that lame apology).
Limbaugh talks about personal responsibility and excepting the results of those actions, Sleep Train screwed up, they will pay for their stupidity - its that simple.

Sleep Train made a mistake..

A mistake? A mistake is forgetting to carry the one when doing addition, Sleep Train made a choice, they chose unwisely, and now they will pay the consequences.

We need to claim some scalps here. That will send a message to jelly-spined CEO’s that there is more to be lost by throwing us under the bus than from tolerating static from Media Matters.

Sleep Train and Carbonite MUST DIE!

No, “voiced announcement” ... they wanted Rush to deliver the commercial. This isn’t simply buying time on the show.

I think Rush should forgive them in a bit. They reacted in a knee-jerk fashion and figured out that it was not a good idea. My guess is that the Sleep Train PR folks did this real fast and then the financial folks were asked for their input. The financial folks probalbly came back with, "John Q. Public will forget about this in four weeks. Given the size of El Rushbo's audience, it will cost us a lot of sales to do this. And any public good will related to pulling the ads will not make up for the the loss of sales. We think pulling the ads are a stupid, knee-jerk idea." The financial folks won and the PR folks had to eat crow.

Maybe he can forgive them when Sandra Fluke forgives him.

“I feel Rush should forgive”

No. He said the sponser defections, some of them anyway, offended his audience. Rush has said his audience is his most precious asset.

I feel Rush should forgive.

Perhaps he has, I don't know. But that doesn't mean he needs to reestablish a relationship with them.

I have forgiven people who have wronged me, yet in some cases I have felt it was best to discontinue the relationship with them going forward.

Did you forget a sarcasm tag? All Rush did was tell the truth. Anybody spending $3K on The Pill IS a slut. The math was done. Asking me to spend it means I’m paying for her to have sex. That’s just stupid.

As for Sleep Train, their CEO should have called Rush BEFORE yanking the ads and got his side of it. Rush built his business, period. He didn’t. He pulled the ads.

What’s to stop this idiot from trying to put Rush out of business again? You don’t harbor threats - you dispatch them.

I humbly disagree with YOU. There's nothing to "make up". Sleep Train made a business decision. So did Rush. Rush has advertisers fill the spots for those that left. Those that left may now be losing business because of their rash decisions... well, to freakin' bad. They made their choice, and should live with the consequences of their actions.

Sleep Train is making ANOTHER mistake by not apologizing to Rush NATIONALLY on the things they said about him.
