Long time Freeper gaijin had the insoide story of how much Rush has done for Sleep train and Dale Carlsen’s fortunes over the years. Rush MADE Sleep Train.

Good for Rush. In this war for America, you don’t need fairweather friends.

I hadn’t seen this, THANK YOU for this ping...! I would have missed it.

Yeah, uh...unfortunately this HAD to be done.

Rush is suuuuper cool to his people —pays high, pays on time, verrrry loyal and sweet.

I know that even after this betrayal Rush really was very tempted to give ole’ Dale a huge mulligan.

But THAT is one of the unfortunate complications of Rush’s spectacular success; strictly speaking he’s just an observer, but he has grown so large that he’s MORE than that:

It’s like in atomic physics —to a single electron’s flight to be visible it must be seen in light. But that light in fact energizes the electron, thereby adulterating the data.

If Rush had taken Dale back, it would have empowered future boycotts and all manner of activism.

It really, really is best if Rush does EVERYTHING possible to avoid impeding any of the damage to Sleep Train that still might play out, going forward.

The sponsors need to know, and especially the smart and ever energetic **Left** needs to see that the sponsors see and dread that.

One time when Rush played football he wasn’t giving it his all, and the coach saw it: at the time the whole team was running some drill where backs were rushing, and hitting the linemen, the position Rush played. The coach wanted to teach Rush that he (the coach) wouldn’t settle for anything less than Rush’s best effort.

The coach took a back aside, whispering some instructions to him:

The whistle blew, and on the next play on the coach’s instructions the back hit Rush with such running force that it laid Rush out flat, making him see stars and reminding him of the standards he’d been neglecting.

The hit was intended to TEACH RUSH A LESSON.

He didn’t forget it, and I don’t think Rush should be the ONLY one subject to such reminders about standards.

Sorry, Dale...!
