Excellent observation! Yes, the Left is far more guilty than the Right of muddying the wates with egregious name-calling.
That said . . . I have to say, by my old-fashioned standards, I think Rush was guilty of being rude by calling Fluke a “slut.” I don’t let my sons call any names at all. Name-calling does nothing but make people angry and unable to think properly. If you want to describe someone’s perceived behavior (especially what you regard as bad behavior), then do so. But calling them names is counter-productive. I don’t think Rush won any new people over to his side with this, but did make a lot of people angry. How does that help us?
