I like playing with the Census and the ACS. Answer in a manner that is "truthful but not helpful" as Clinton put it.

I answer for number of people and ages, although my race is "HUMAN".

If the water is not running at the time I fill it out, there is no running water in the home.

Since I cannot both make and receive calls simultaneously, I do not have what they call "telephone service", by my misreading of the question.

None of my cars are kept at home, since they all go on the road almost daily, so no cars.

No fuel is used most for heating, since solar is used most in the summer and gas/electric in the winter.

Last month's electricity cost: $0. I paid one bill on the last day of the month and the next the first week of the second month after that, weaseling my way into a truthful but not helpful answer.

I put my home is occupied without payment of rent, which is true but not as good an answer as owned without a mortgage.

I say that my home would sell for about 10% of its real value. It certainly would.

And so on - my survey is worse that useless, and it is fun to fill out. It also gives me a chance to teach my kids about noncompliance, which is a major issue for pollsters, and about privacy, which is a major issue for today's government bureaucrats.

I would answer it - and have fun.

Do not return the American Community Survey if you don’t want to. They tried to get me to complete one. I ignored it.

They sent a rep. to my house. I politely turned her away.

They send two more forms in the mail with letters stating that if I didn’t comply I would be subject to a $5000.00 fine and possible jail time. I round filed them.

They then sent another rep. to my house. When I told him “no” he initially reminded me that there could be a $5000 fine and jail time. I told him this was an affront to my human rights; unconstitutional and an invasion of my privacy, etc.

I mentioned getting a lawyer and then his body language completely changed. He quickly backed up a few steps, put his hand up and stated “Dont worry about it. You don’t have to do it. Seriously, I don’t want you to worry about it.”

I asked him about the fines and such and he said “Dont worry, they won’t do anything”. “They dare not enforce because they know they would lose in a court of law”.

So then I asked him if he was proud to be working for a firm that was using intimidation and fear tactics in order to deny my rights?

He said he was only trying to pay his bills and quietly left. I have heard nothing else about it.

These government gangsters must be stopped. Do not let them intimidate you. They have no authority that we don’t give to them.
