Santorum was basically the lone Conservative in Michigan even with Dem support. He still lost.
Not trying to Offend you but don't be offended by us that voted or are going to vote for Newt. Look at the Exit polls as to why Santorum lost.
He lost the Catholic Vote.
He lost the Women Vote.
He lost both the most important issue is Economy and budget deficit.
He lost the out of work Vote.
You and I have discussed this before. His strongest support is from the Anti-Abortion group while admirably he CANNOT win the General election and probably not the Republican nomination with this one group.
As bad as I have to say it. It the Economy Santorum.

(Who should be on President Rick Santorum's Dream Team?)

Santorum picked up nearly as many electorals as Mitt in MI last night.
'Nuff said.

I think that adds up to Romney successfully won the ABO vote. It's not that Romney wins anything, other candidates lose the “who can beat Obama” vote. The pile on by the MSM and the Republican establishment scared the sheep back into the pen. Romney will most likely keep it going into super Tuesday. Watch for erosion of Santorum in Ohio. If that happens, Romney is back on game. Newt is an outlier at this point and will end up with the Huckabee share this round. Newt and his supporters keep thinking they are going to have endless bites at the apple, but I don't think that will happen. It's a momentum game, and Santorum was the last serious challenge to Romney.

Your argument is based on santorum’s talking too much about the social issues, and I believe that it cost him the state. But if you added the Gingrich votes to his, Santorum would have beat Romney which would have crippled him. A more crippled Romney is good for Gingrich.
