Would anyone be so insensitive as to call a yamaka a magic beany cap?

I’m sorry. I thought I was posting that to a thread about Mormon’s “Magic Underwear”.

Well, plenty of people refer to them as beanies, maybe because they don’t know that they are called yarmulkes in another language. As for magic, I don’t know anyone who would call them that because Jews don’t ascribe magic powers or superstitions to them. Mormons, on the other hand, believe that the temple garments can protect them from evil. Seems to me that, by their superstition, they invite the derisive term on themselves.

I don't know where this question came from, but in answer...I would if the wearer was so stupid or deceived to believe that wearing such a "garment" was a requirement to enter the so-called highest level of heaven and checked a block for attaining god-hood. Not to mention protecting the wearer against real and imagined spiritual and physical threats.

Yeah, I'd mock it.
