well, proverbs has something to say about fools, and it doesn’t point negatively to being prepared, actually it speaks in favour of it.

Calling people being prepared fools is a bit extreme, if you don’t agree say so, but fools? History is rife of examples of people neglecting to prepare.

“In the house of the wise are stores of choice food and oil, but the foolish man devours all he has.” Proverbs 21:20

“Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider its ways and be wise!
It has no commander, no overseer or ruler,
yet it stores its provisions in summer
and gathers its food at harvest.”Proverbs 6:6-8

“A prudent person foresees danger and takes precautions. The simpleton goes blindly on and suffers the consequences.” Proverbs 27:12

Anyone who does not provide for their relatives, and especially for their own household, has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. 1 Timothy 5:8

I said “Preppers are fools.” Normal folks who prepare are just naive. My comment generated several responses, yet no one actually disputed my opinions, they just didn't like hearing them.

In any tornado/ hurricane alley, if you don't have a tornado/ hurricane proof shelter, you are again a fool.

This is a SHORT term emergency. Some stored water & food, sure. Prudent.

I was talking about a collapse of society. Yes, “I” would be looking out for MY family FIRST. I would not be capable of providing for the general public. How long would your stored food last if you gave it away to everyone else? We are talking “survival” here, not camping.

Your neighbors would become like zombies trying to kill you for what you have. A stark reality. Stick your heads in the sand if you want to. Feel comfortable because you have a few thousand in the bank and a bunch of canned goods in the basement. You would be better off stocking up on guns & ammo. Then you could obtain whatever you need from day one, and keep it. Again, we are talking “SURVIVAL” during a complete break down of society. Can't happen here? Sarajevo?
Rwanda, Somalia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, on & on.

Half measures will be less than useless.
