These plastic containers should be pretty thick plastic, right? We have some locally without the cages. I wouldn’t think the cages are necessary but not sure. Opinions?

I think the cages are added as protection during shipping. I see such tanks in use by landscapers, mobile pressure washers all the time without the cages.
