Your optimism is galla nt but misplaced -

All trends point to Detroit being a leader in a long term trend.
If not - argue it - point to some trends that support Detroit as an anomoly.

You can’t.

That does not mean is it inevitable - just that - if current trends do not change - it IS the destination.

Its been cloudy all day here with a little snow this morning. It's the doom and gloom of mid-winter in Detroit.

Never said that and in fact, just the opposite.
Inner city decay, riots, etc., have happened multiple times in many US cities.
We'll live.
