Detroit was headed down this path for a very long time.
When I read the ‘Protestant Ethic Thesis’ one author commented:
“Capitalism is a shell secreated by the religious organism. When that organism dies, it will be interesting to see what OTHER creature can crawl into the shell to make a home.”
Detroit is what it is because secularist Liberalism has wrung the life out of it ... what remains is fit for no one else. That’s just my take on it.
