So the choice is simple: throw up one’s hands and say “We’ve lost! It’s too late!”.....or fight back.

I'm not proposing throwing one's hands in the air and acquiescing; but we need to be aware that too many couldn't care less about freedoms lost. Talk to any teenager you come across. Most have no idea why the Founders did what they did. Most Americans don't realize that only about a third of the colonists ended up fighting for the other two thirds (one third opposed the 'rebels' and the other third wanted to stay out of it). I'm all for fighting back; that's why I can't vote for 'who ever the nominee is'. It's like pulling the band-aid off slow because of not wanting to deal with the pain. I would like to get it over with so we can get back to being the best country on the planet and then some (I agree with Newt about the space program).
