It seems there were a lot of people who wanted to kill Kennedy. There was a tape of a group in Miami too. Retaliation for assassinations of other countries leaders.
I always thought it was probably Castro, and that was why there were so many unanswered questions ie the government didn't want to go head to head with the Russians again.
I do remember however, that a lot of people back then thought that LBJ was behind it.
