Think of all the "black leaders" on the left that fit this template. Rev. Jackson, Rev. Sharpton. Minister Farrakhan, Rev. Wright... even Martlin Luther King Jr was co-opted, and was awarded the Planned Parenthood Margaret Sanger Award in 1966 (it was accepted by Coretta Scott King).
