Its easier to blame the world and claim victim status than it is to take an active role in life.

Every time I have written about this subject over the past few years, this prosaic response, along with “change the channel” comes up.
It betrays the fact that the people who write it didn’t read the column or watch the vid. That’s great - if they were not -commenting- on the topic.
If they DID read the column or watch the vid, they would apare the rest of us from having to read their comment because they would KNOW that I said that is exactly what I DO!
The POINT is that it is not always 100% full-proof. Sometimes in switching back and forth, something imappropriate slips in.
But THIS piece isn’t about free-speech! They are entitled to do whatever they want on their half-time show and they are entitled to run their private BUSINESS into the ground if they want to.
As a consumer, I HAVE A RIGHT to express my opinion about how they run their business, especially when they take what should be a safe and harmless program (morally speaking), SPECIFICALLY target children throughout the year and then violate their innocence with the kind of pornographic performances they have been featuring.
Of COURSE I’m not going to let my sone watch that - AS I SAID IN THE VIDEO. The point of this is to use my rights as a consumer in a capitalist system to speak up and hopefully, one day, make it so that my son can enjoy NFL football the way I did with my father years ago - and not have to leap for the remote every 5-10 minutes, then guess when they are cutting back to the game with clairvoyant precision.
As you can see, I hate that specious response.
