The Pennsylvania Republican establishment, Saturday, Jan. 28, overwhelmingly endorsed a Chester County reputed Obama-supporter to take on incumbent Democrat Bob Casey in this fall's U.S. Senate race.
Steve Welch, a businessman who has never held elected office, received 182 votes before the GOP State Committee. Coming in second was coal industry executive Tom Smith with 51 votes. Following them were Washington County businessman and erstwhile 12th District congressional candidate Tim Burns, 47 votes; former State and gubernatorial candidate Sam Rohrer with 33 votes; and Dauphin County attorney and former Sen. I’m sure you’ve heard this. Our leadership is a disgrace.
The GOP is to conservatism as the Democrats are to blacks.
This Pennsylvania resident will tell them all to go to hades. so sick of the GOP..hope some strong young individuals will get the TEA PARTY moving and FAST.
I am no longer a Republican in GOP standing...
Bob Casey does ‘jack sh1t’ for the residents of Pennsylvania. you never see him, never hear from him and his response letters is full of a bunch of bull...he never addresses the question you put forth...just runs on and on with his Democrat talking points.
TIME TO SEND THIS YO~YO HOME..
Of course, the GOP-E would choose the most liberal candidate. I am to the point that I think ‘12 will be the last election of the USA.
If you are a Pennsylvania PLEASE don't change your registration. You can't in the primary for the good guys if you do.
We are a closed primary state.
Asher and friends have slid into the “doddering old fool” stage of their lives.
The whole state committee is in the geriatric club with them.
Just ignore them and vote Burns or that other guy.
Sheesh.
This is why I don’t donate to the GOP any more. I don’t need to have my money funneled from the federal level down to races like this. If I wanted to get dems elected I could just vote for O’Dumber.
WHY do we put up with this??? How does the gop leadership in PA hold on the way it has when they have betrayed us time and time again? How do we change things nationally when we can’t even clean up our own backyard?

“I am to the point that I think 12 will be the last election of the USA.”
Not to worry, k51, there will be plenty of ‘elections’ to look forward to in the new USSA!
Sam Rohrer is a true conservative backed by the Tea Party. He’s got my vote in the primary.
Please do not surrender. Cast your vote for a true conservative.
I’m voting for Sam Rohrer.
There is only one party. It is the Demrat-republican party playing one big long game of good cop bad cop on the citizenry.
The GoP is a joke and the joke is on us.
(But remember to stay registered Pub. We very well might win this April)
I am but I hate it.
Dittos to that.
After that I’m out.
