"The Legitimate Heir of the Reagan Movement, Not Some Liberal From Massachusetts!"

...."I am not running to make the Wall Street elite and the Washington elite happy," said Gingrich. "I am running to change both groups on behalf of the American people!"

... "The truth is we have been served badly, the American people, by the establishment of this country in both parties. Let's be clear about it. In both parties! It's time someone stood up for hard-working, tax-paying Americans and said, enough! And if that makes the old order uncomfortable, my answer is: Good."

Listeners got to hear a detailed pre-history of the Gingrich administration, an hour-by-hour countdown of what he'd do on his first day in office. "My very first action would be to sign an executive order abolishing all the White House czars," he said. He would sign a repeal of "Obamacare," and nuke "40 percent of [Obama's] government" by the time the defeated ex-president landed in Chicago. He would do it, and Mitt Romney -- never named -- wouldn't do it.

"I'm delighted that tomorrow Michael Reagan will be campaigning with me," said Gingrich, "which should tell you how false the ads were earlier this week by Romney, to suggest that I wasn't a Reagan Republican. Nancy Reagan said in 1995, 'Just as Barry passed the torch to Ronnie, Ronnie passed the torch to Newt.' And Michael will be here to prove tomorrow, to every doubting person, I am in fact the legitimate heir of the Reagan movement. Not some liberal from Massachusetts!"

Up to now, Gingrich had been calling Romney a "Massachusetts moderate." The "liberal" tag was new; it was exactly what the Tea Party was longing for.

The author (in the beginning of this piece) blatantly lies about how many people (50) were at Newt's "Villages" speech. And his account has the usual lefty snark but here is the video so you don't have to take his "word" for it: Video

I cheered when Newt (near the end) said LIBERAL! I think Newt didn't mean to, it just came out! The truth!

Mitt Romney is not a moderate from Massachusetts he's a LIBERAL from Massachusetts!

I was watching the speach on CSpan when he said that and I also raised fist in the air and said “hell yeah!”

I guess Medved will either ignore this comment in his daily smearing of Newt tomorrow or come up with some BS lie about how Romney isn’t really a liberal.

The minute any pundit, talking head or politician opens their mouth now, they will be pointing out the "conservative" or the "establishment" pin on their chest for everyone to see. The lines are clear.

I am getting sick of folks trying to be RR. Lets get some great new ideas for our time. Pres. Reagan last days in office where in 1989, that is a generation ago. He built a new brand, but he did a few things we are not happy about like in Lebanon, or letting some of the debt machine get started.

He is after all the reason GHWBush said, "read my lips." RR was a great orator, Peggy wrote him a couple of fantastic speeches, it is time for us find new ideas. Take a look at Walker and Johnson in Wisconsin, Rubio, etc. etc. Lets find new leaders who can stand on their own. Nobody running for president, now, is remotely close to RR.

Like I always say about Medved--for a would-be political pundit, he's about average as a movie critic.
