Social Security numbers did not exist until 1935 so how is that possible?

Social SEcurity numbers are not a birth certificate. If the man was born in 1890, he would have been in his forties in 1935, and everyone had to get one of the new SS numbers, so...it is possible.
I didn't get one until I was 18, back in the 60's, and I was born in the 40's.

I think the story is that the person was born in 1890, not died in 1890.

Had to research the origins of SS number - after the 1890 date - which clearly is an error. Maybe the individual was born in 1890(???).

I’m assuming that’s a typo. The guy was born in 1890 and died in Hawaii sometime in the early 1970s never having collected his social security.

It was a mis-statement. It should read “born in 1890”. Of course it could have been on purpose to make the claim look false.

Social Security numbers did not exist until 1935 so how is that possible? We are talking about the person's identity not the number assigned to it. Sometime post 1935, someone used the name of a resident of Connecticut who alleged died in 1890, to apply for a new SS card. Clearly a fraud but the name was not in the SS database so the card was issued. Don't ask me how that card with the bogus name became associated with Barack Hussein Obama II.
Why would "Ozymandias" need 28 different Social Security numbers? Why would anyone...
