Why I'm Backing Newt Gingrich

For conservatives, I'm a might tired of the weenies who prance around on the Internet as if they're spoiling for a fight, then when someone with a little fight in them comes along, they start sounding like pussified Republicans. Oh, God, no, we can't have that go on!!

One of the Left's big advantages is, they aren't afraid of a little passion in their politics. They're also more willing to take risks. Well, there's a rule of thumb that applies, higher risk is required for higher reward. Look it up in your capitalist manifesto, when you climb down off your high horse and stop defending it, when it wasn't under attack in the first place.

I didn't start out backing Newt Gingrich. Perry was my guy. He's gone and you go to war with the army you've got, or you can sit in your tent and pick your ass, while government continues to grow and we continue the long, slow slide into statism that's been going on for almost a century, now.

It is inconceivable that we will see any serious Right-leaning reform from a guy like Mitt Romney. He may work hard at some things when it suits him, but he has no history of fighting for anything other than perhaps parochial interests when the current is seriously against him. And the current in Washington and the media is most definitely against conservatism.

Not particularly surprised who Riehl is endorsing, but I'm surprised at the timing and part of his argument.

This is a guy whom I read on a regular basis. If I'm remembering correctly (and maybe I'm wrong), he is also a guy who has been critical of other bloggers for endorsing candidates, something about losing their impartiality.

I think most of us know that Gingrich thrives on a multi debate format for that's what he does best, debates. But, in a general election, there might be one or two 90 minute debates, not 20+. Can a candidate running for President build his entire campaign around one or two debates? What if such a candidate stumbles during that debate? Do the best debaters always win elections?

If Newt were to be successful in winning the nomination, he's going to have run his first National campaign (outside of a Congressional district) without the benefit of debates (for the most part).

I presume that some of Newt's "cult-like" followers include both Presidents Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, who BOTH agreed with Newt that TRUE ECONOMIC GROWTH comes after:

1) Corporate and Personal Taxes are LOWERED

2) Government Regulations are SCALED-BACK

3) U.S. Domestic Energy Production is ENCOURAGED



Another famous "Newt-Cult-Member" ... "Tip" O'Neil (All Politics are Local) ... a Yellow-Dog-Kennedy-Style Democrat ... also went along with Newt Gingrich's IDEAS turned into ACTION ... and RESULTS ... 16 million new Jobs created with the HMajor Leadership of Newt Gingrich ...

Newt Gingrich ... THEN ... pissed-off the Nantucket GOP Elite (Bush-41) when he STOOD HIS GROUND when Bush-41 STUPIDLY lied (broke his promise) and RAISED TAXES ...
