When I wuz a ute, there was an older kid in the ‘hood who kept snakes in his basement. He later got a job at the Zoo, doing same.
If they’ve got correct heating provided, a basement is a great place for a snake room.
It’s dark, humid and not prone to excess vibrations.
Unfortunately, my “basement” is a creepy dirt root cellar dug nearly 300 years ago.
With the indigenous snakes who live down there, there’d be a huge conflict of interest...LOL
My Dumerils Boa, being cannibalistic by nature, ~might~ enjoy it.
The Colombian Boa, believing that he is actually a human unfairly trapped in a snake body, would definitely -not-.
He watched the debates with us just now and threw a hissy fit when it was time for him to go back into his split-level BoaCondo.
He’d curled up behind ‘daddy’ with his head on the chair arm and was quite happily watching TV when “bad guy Mom” said “time for bed”.
Had a rip of a time getting him to let go of my arm after I’d placed him back into his home.
