love to unleash this guy to newter Obama in the general election

he’s the only Republican candidate who has a record of LEADING a massive successful national Conservative crusade to defeat the Democrats when it was said even by Republicans it couldn’t be done.. he lead it..nobody else running was even on the radar screen or was even heard of by the average Amercian.. we are still reaping the rewards today of that monumental accomplishment

pretty much case closed for me

GO NEWT!

.

“GO NEWT!”

I’m starting to believe the same.
Because of his Mormonism Mitt is unelectable!

If Newt is the nominee, I can see Obama debating once if at all.

Newt could then invite third party candidates to debate.

They will stage some sort of crisis and use it as an excuse to delay the debates, then after some time passes they will refuse debates altogether.

Newt’s communications abilities and Churchillian oratory are worth at least a billion if not more.

All that holds Newt back is lack of exposure, the more people hear him the more they lean in his direction. The dems and MSM know this and will try to minimize his exposure at all costs.

If Romney gets the nomination then Newt might as well go 3rd party....no downside whatsoever and it gets him into any debates that air. He could use the platform to move Romney to the right....then at the last moment resign from the campaign and throw his support to Romney IF and I say again IF Romney agrees to a set of principles and swears he will adhere to them.

There simply is no other way Romney could win...only Newt could save him.... It would be an unusual subterfuge, but it could work. It would also keep a dem inspired 3rd party run by someone else from occurring (Paul) since there would seem to be no need because with Newt running there would be no chance of a republican win.

True, but Newt would capitalize on that too. nything from unopposed "Town Hall" meetings to other zingers. I can picture the scene being set for someone to ask Newt why Obama won't debate him. The potential reply, "He is obviously heeding the old adage that it is better to keep one's mouth shut and be thought a fool, than to open one's mouth and remove all doubt."

Newt says if that’s the case he would then follow Obama’s campaign stops wherever he goes and counter whatever Obama said in that town just after Obama finished.. he said what will make the news is his rebuttal to Obama not what Obama says... just like Lincoln did to Douglas which forced Douglas to debate him numerous times

I started out last year thinking Newt had no chance whatsoever of getting traction, let alone winning the nomination. After his campaign manager left early in his campaign I thought this even more. I also thought that he had way too much baggage to be electable in the general election.

Many things have changed since then. I think a lot of people think we have reached a crossroads in the nation, and they will now likely be more willing to vote for someone like Newt who they might see as flawed - but capable. I also think that Obama is not very likable, and this to some extent will nullify Newt's negatives.

Do I think he'll get nominated? No, I still don't, but we won't really know where all of this is headed until a few more of those who have been splitting the primary vote drop out.

Anyone who watches the SC HIgh school forum with Newt, and is not moved by it, esp at around 23 minutes is brain dead...

If you haven’t seen this please do and pass it on.

Oh and btw, why is it that every negative Newt post gets to the wide bar, but never the positive ones....?

I agree with you 100%. I talk to a lot of people. I’d say half the people I work with, probably more haven’t seen one debate. They haven’t listened on iota to Newt.

I also have the inkling that people like Ann Coulter and Krauthammer, turn off the tube whenever Newt speaks. I don’t think they’ve listened to one town hall meeting.

I say this because anyone who does will instantly be for this man.

This is why I agree with you. If Newt can hang in there until this is a two man race, he will get money from all over.

We cannot let the establishment plus Ann Coulter types pick our candidate after just a couple primaries esp when Iowa and New Hampshire don’t count.

Lots of networks are waiting for Obama to pay them off for not reporting what he has done to this country. The advertisements will pay a lot of people’s salaries. Those news hacks will blame Bush for the deficit.

Was also wondering how during the Hucklebee forum he got questions from 2 hardcore Paulites and a Romney lover when it was supposed to be all undecided voters.

Pray for America

Why are none of the candidates asking Obama when he intends to stop campaigning off our dime and switch to his campaign funds to pay for it?

Obama doesn’t need Campaign funds he is campaigning off our funds.

Yes, Obama has 240 million to attack republicans. So, I’ve got a great idea. Let’s take ALL the money republicans have donated to ALL the primary GOP candidates, and use it to help Obama attack Republicans. Yea. That’s the ticket.

All that holds Newt back is lack of exposure, the more people hear him the more they lean in his direction.

First, the idea that Newt has a "lack of exposure" is laughable.

Second, accepting your absurd premise -- When Newt had no money, and therefore "no exposure", he rose to the top, and was leading the polls. He got tons of money, and used to to launch a major advertising blitz.

In the last two national polls, he now polls BELOW Rick Santorum, and over 20 points behind the leader.

Does it seem that the additional exposure is causing more people to lean in his direction?

I have personally experienced the Newt Effect.

I have downloaded many Newt Youtube videos and played them for friends who held a bad opinion of him, or no opinion at all.

The results were impressive.
