I can understand the compromise Santorum had to make regarding Snarlin’ Arlen.

If Baron's account is accurate and Barone usually is, then he owed Specter for getting him across the finish line. Plus, we got two conservatives on the Supreme Court. In Santorum's opinion it was worth it, and he made that sacrifice knowing what it would mean for him with conservatives.
