Media analysts make their money drawing contrasts among the nations three premier cable news networks: Fox News (right-leaning, self-righteous); MSNBC (left-leaning, outraged); CNN (hurricane!).
These carefully cultivated news identities did surface Tuesday night, though not in striking form. MSNBC generated a lively discussion with a panel that included the Rev. Al Sharpton, Lawrence ODonnell, Republican strategist Steve Schmidt and Rachel Maddow. The highlight came when Chris Matthews beamed in from New Hampshire and started hassling the Republican strategist. Hey, why hasnt Mitt Romney released his tax forms? Hey, whats up with the Republicans essentially deporting President Obama to Europe via rhetoric? Schmidt had trouble with his comebacks.
Fox gathered a smaller panel featuring Chris Wallace, Karl Rove and Joe Trippi. Its highlight came when Fox showed a recent ad criticizing Rove. Wallace commented that the ad showcased a nice picture of the legendary political operative, to which Rove replied: There is no good picture of me. Thats the problem.
CNNs talkers excelled in breaking down Romneys outlook.
Yet the great divides among the nets have a way of closing up on primary night. Have you got professional jealousy?
I know being the “Sarah Palin reminder service” has got to be a competitive endeavor, more so every day.
I’d vote for you. Keep the faith! You do a great job, you betcha!
“Republican strategist??????????????? Steve Schmidt????????????” What drug is this jerk on? Schmidt is a traitor and a RINO moron. I wouldn’t give you a nickel for his opinion, or any of the other three GUYS on MSIDIOCY.
Larry the Cable guy will be visiting the Palins tonight on “Only In America”.
I ain’t gonna let you forget her, FRiend! LOL
Perseverance is admirable.
Sometimes misplaced, but faith can be like that sometimes.
I don’t like Schmidt either, but I must say, he was pretty good last night on MSNBS. It was basically 5 against 1, and he took them all on. Schmidt was by himself debating Matthews, Maddow, Schultz, O’Donnell and Sharpton. Chris Matthews was especially apoplectic over Romney’s speech.
It was an entertaining segment.
