Back in the 70’s one of their detectives murdered an informant/criminal who was wearing a tape recorder as he was shot. In the 60’s the scandal was “tolerance”, also known as bribery from pimps, after hours clubs, dope dealers, etc. - a large portion of SPD was on the pad and may still be.
