Texas has spent over $400 Million trying to do the fed's job of protecting an INTERNATIONAL border.

Perry wants the border sealed (states he can do it within a year), kill off the cartels and NO amnesty.

Perry has spent only a small fraction of that amount on border security- less than 2 million on Ranger Recon Teams that Perry so loudly brags about. Most of that 400 million has been absorbed by Texas DPS to fund other operations in the state that have NOTHING to do with border security. Some of it is being spent providing personal security to Perry as a political candidate currently posing as a governor. That's more Texas taxpayer money being pissed away by Perry that he should be footing the bill for out of his own campaign pocket.

Why does Perry continually feel compelled to lie about his commitment to border security? Why do you continually support his lies?

Texas Taxpayers would be paying for Perry’s security whether he was here in Texas or running for office.

Why do you criticize Perry for spending money AT ALL on Border Security when it is clearly not Perry, Texas OR Texas Taxpayers who are responsible for securing an International Border?

Why don’t you criticize Obama for NOT spending money on the border security and NOT doing his job?

Why don’t people of none border states send THEIR hard earned Tax dollars down to the border states to help pay for the security of THEIR border and quit blaming Texas, Arizona, New Mexico and Calif for trying to do what they can to secure it and deal with Illegals that our Federal Government will NOT?

IF YOU ARE NOT FROM Texas, Arizona, New Mexico or Calif -
THEN PUT YOUR MONEY WHERE YOUR MOUTH IS!

Why don’t you criticize Obama for running guns to the cartel?

Border security is a federal responsibility but a Texas problem, and Texas has invested hundreds of millions of state dollars in efforts to support and supplement security forces already in place. Still, this is a problem that will only be solved with more federal accountability and involvement.

Highlights

— Starting in 2005 with Operation Linebacker, the state has sought to provide funding, manpower and equipment to local law enforcement agencies operating along the Texas-Mexico border.

— The state’s latest operation, Border Star, builds on the successes of previous operations with unprecedented local, state and federal law enforcement coordination. With the assistance of the 80th and 81st Legislatures, the State of Texas has been able to appropriate more than $110 million each session to fund and amplify these efforts.

— In response to a rising tide of gang violence in Texas communities, the Governor allocated $4 million in criminal justice grants to cities across the state to increase patrols of gang hotspots. In 2009, Gov. Perry worked to secure more than $10 million in state funding for enhanced anti-gang efforts during the 2010-11 biennium.

— In September 2009, Gov. Perry announced the formation of highly-skilled Ranger Recon Teams — which include Texas Rangers, Texas National Guard Counterdrug forces, Highway Patrol and DPS Aviation assets — in order to address threats building in the unincorporated areas along the Texas-Mexico border.

— Since early 2009, Gov. Perry has repeatedly called on Washington to authorize the deployment of 1,000 Title 32 National Guard soldiers to the Texas-Mexico border to support border security operations currently underway.
