McRomney likely will follow the same downward trajectory his predecessor did in 2008. If he succeeds, it won’t be because of conservative support. Drudge has joined Coulter and the rest with the pom poms for Willard.

I’ve never been a drudge fan, and I’ve visited his site maybe a dozen times in a dozen years.

I’ve always considered him a gossip columnist....those types are always tilted in a liberal direction.

Drudge posts what gets hits. If he supports Romney, it is probably because he has been drinking with Ann Coulter too much. Matt should find a nice, understanding conservative marriageable girl, learn to like her, and get married like he means it.

Its a odd thing the people who seem to be supporting Romney. They may not come right out and say it but they act like any other choice is crazy. So, chosing Romdumby by default?
Aanyone from Krauthammer to Coulter to Gutfield and Drudge?

Courtesy of another freeper and Inman from his post earlier today.

"If we must have an enemy at the head of Government, let it be one whom we can oppose, and for whom we are not responsible, who will not involve our party in the disgrace of his foolish and bad measures." - Alexander Hamilton

We will have control of congress after 2012. Given that, it is better that we have an angry and alert populace insisting on political war with an open enemy in the white house, than a slumbering electorate being betrayed by the Benedict Arnold of 2012.

No Romney, PERIOD! We told them, We told them, We told them ! Personally I'm writing in George Washington if Romney is the candidate.

If memory serves, Matt the Hat was once dating Mann Coulter. That was long before her latest infatuations with Willard and Bill Maher.

Could be that Matt is trying to get back in her good graces by falling into the tank for Willard.

He posted may articles that were not flattering about Cain's accusers. His website was also Gingrich heavy when Gingrich was making a surge. I think he's just going where he thinks the Republic voters are going at the time.

OTOH he seems to post numerous unflattering article about Obama. I have no problem with his website.

This is pure nonsense. Drudge posts what is current and is in the news with of course a pro-conservative bent. If Romney’s numbers were to collapse tomorrow and either Santorum or Gingrich goes up, that will be his deadline. A couple of days ago, he had “Santorum Rising.” It’s time to stop calling names of fellow conservatives and marginalize ourselves simply because they don’t fall in line with whoever our preference is.

Yes, he is (but that's no surprise as is Coulter's "support" for him.)

What is sad is that FNC is really in the tank for Mitt and that network, along with all others are using Paul (whom they have totally ignored in the past) as the "straw man" to allow Mitt to beat as "THE conservative" for the nomination - hoping to gather pro-life social conservative votes.

IF Mitt gets that nomination then the election goes to Obama, no doubt about it.

RNC back to its old tricks of setting the "next in line" at the top spot regardless of how the grassroots feel about that candidate - pretending to work hard to win.

Tea Partiers are on to this trick and I predict will NOT jump on board, just as many social conservatives and libertarian-types (Paul supporters) will stay home election day.

This is NOT a defeatist attitude on my part, its a view of the last numbers of elections with Republican "next in line" (i.e. Dole and McCain.)

When you keep on doing the same thing that does NOT work, expecting change, that's a sign of a seriously disturbed sense of reality - that's what rules the Establishment, the RNC and all others who refuse to allow an actual conservative to head the top spot (just as they attempted to stop Reagan's candidacy!)

Rush has it right, the Establishment is still working off the "Goldwater syndrome" (who was NOT as conservative as they feared.)

I check Drudge a couple of times a day, and I think you are wrong on this. He posts what he thinks people would like to read. I’ve noticed fair coverage of all the candidates, not a preference for Romney.

ALL THE GOP ELITE ARE!!!

We need to get a clue. Those we thought our allies, Rasmussen included, are in the tank for Romney.

These people are NOT our friends and care nothing for Conservatism.

Screw Matt Drudge. We are on to his baloney as Newt would say.

I stopped going to his site in 2007.

It’s plausible I suppose that Drudge is in the tank for Romney. Does anyone remember when Drudge suddenly went positive on Hillary Clinton: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/22/us/politics/22drudge.html?pagewanted=all

Neither do I. But there was talk I tell you. Talk.

It seems to me that Drudge has just been headlining the Republican of the Week, which is constantly changing. It’s unfortunate that Romney is cresting right before the Ohio vote, but that’s not Drudge’s fault.

Over the course of the debates, he’s given plenty of time to other candidates while they were ahead in the polls.

I believe he is. I visit his site on a daily basis and he rarely fails to have an anti-Newt article up on his website. Plenty of pro-Mitt articles up though over the weeks. I hate to see it but it is what it is. Drudge favors the establishments choice.
