It figures. The Obama-Pelosi stimulus package failed in its objective to create jobs. It added a trillion dollars to the national debt and didnt even dent the record unemployment rate. But it did allow the government to snoop into personal information about your child. The New York Post reported:
...The department has taken a giant step toward creating a de facto national student database that will track students by their personal information from preschool through career. Although current federal law prohibits this, the department decided to ignore Congress and, in effect, rewrite the law. Student privacy and parental authority will suffer. How did it happen? Buried within the enormous 2009 stimulus bill were provisions encouraging states to develop data systems for collecting copious information on public-school kids. To qualify for stimulus money, states had to agree to build such systems according to federally dictated standards. So all 50 states either now maintain or are capable of maintaining extensive databases on public-school students.
The administration wants this data to include much more than name, address and test scores. According to the National Data Collection Model, the government should collect information on health-care history, family income and family voting status.

The left lifts it’s creepy head a little higher each day. Sure hope most of America notices those fangs before it’s too late for “the children”.
Work has to begin on stripping the Fed of years of illicit Leftist influenced powers contrary to what America is all about.
All of this data is currently being collected. The next big step will be to merge and cross reference all this into one gigantic data base.
Nice, huh?
And this won't be used to advance a political agenda, it's for the children...
B effin' S... This is all about control. This (and so much other excrement) has to be repealed ASAP when we regain control of the Senate. Heck, start it now, make it a condition on getting anything through the House. They don't want to play? Fine, 100% gridlock, shut it all down. Who depends on govt. anyway, conservatives? No, by and large it is 'rat voters that are on the dole. Fine, shut it all down. Gridlock now!
bkmk
So they plan to deny care to a sick or handicapped kid because the parents aren’t the right party? Or do they plan to punish school districts because there are too many Republican parents? My vote and yours should be secret. The Republicans need to get on top of this now.
“and family voting status.”
Wonder what happens if you have the “wrong” family voting status.
that’s why there are so many ‘independent’ voters in Mass...negligence or being passed over is common if you have an “R” on the voting lists...
