There are several changes to Labor laws which will take effect in 2012. Pregnancy disability leave and maternity coverage are amongst those. How does it affect employers and employees?

“The new law requires all Health insurance providers who do business in California to provide maternity coverage, such as prenatal care; maternity services; inpatient hospital maternity care .. Individuals normally are favor of given the option to choose the maternity coverage or not. The option of non maternity coverage which would keep the premium lower would be ideal to some, especially to those 50+ individuals. Under the new law, Health insurance policy will no longer be offered non maternity coverage plan.”
The “intelligent” result of government intervention?
And men. likely this coverage is mandated for everyone.
Less women will be hired ..
