Do you mean sucked in by this article's meaningless parsing?

The document, among other things, clearly shows Gingrich saying, "We propose that a more realistic approach might be to limit the mandate to those individuals earning upwards of $54,000 per year."

What part of Gingrich supporting "the mandate" did freepers get "sucked into," in your view?

Did Gingrich agree with Romney on the very thing that conservatives oppose? Yes, he did.

If people want to focus on how the LSM used a term such as "agreed with," rather than the substance of what Gingrich said, have at it.

Gingrich clearly agreed with Romney on forcing at least some people to buy health insurance through use of an individual mandate. That is all.

Newt Notes:

We agree entirely with Governor Romney and Massachusetts legislators that our goal should be 100% insurance coverage for all Americans. Individuals without coverage often do not receive quality medical attention on par with those who do have insurance. We also believe strongly that personal responsibility is vital to creating a 21st Century Intelligent Health System. Individuals who can afford to purchase health insurance and simply choose not to place an unnecessary burden on a system that is on the verge of collapse; these free-riders undermine the entire health system by placing the onus of responsibility on taxpayers.

But All Is Well!! Because Newt didn't agree ENTIRELY with the Mass. Health Plan. So we should ignore his attack on "free-riders" who think they should be allowed to choose for themselves whether they have insurance or not.

And weren't those freepers stupid, for not understanding that Newt didn't REALLY think Mitt did the right thing. How COULD they misinterpret THIS paragraph:

While the Commonwealth’s plan will naturally endure tremendous scrutiny from those who assert that the law will not work as intended, Massachusetts leaders are to be commended for this bipartisan proposal to tackle the enormous challenge of finding real solutions for creating a sustainable health system.
The Headline Was Misleading, so we can ignore everything Newt said. That's the ticket.

Not me!

I never jumped on the Gingrich bandwagon.

I’m old enough to know better!
