Clear Channel is beefing up the lineup on its 910 AM frequency, first by hiring fired KGO hosts Len Tillem and Gene Burns, and now by adding Rush Limbaugh. The new lineup starts Jan. 3. Limbaugh’s move was revealed publicly in a tweet by 910 morning hosts Armstrong & Getty.
There are two schools of thought about why Limbaugh is changing stations. One is that his show is expensive and KSFO’s owner, Cumulus Media, is cutting costs. That’s why they laid off most of the talk hosts at KGO and replaced them with less expensive news staffers. Another theory is that Limbaugh’s syndicator, Premiere Networks, is owned by Clear Channel, and it wanted him to throw his weight behind 910 to help it attract an audience.
Here's the schedule of KKSF 910 (formerly KNEW) starting Jan. 3: Armstrong & Getty 6-9 a.m., Rush 9-noon; Tom Sullivan noon-3; Len Tillem 3-4 and Gene Burns 4-7.
I remember when he moved from KNBR to KSFO because he kept getting bumped because of baseball games.
He's moving again? What will this do to "Hot Talk" on KSFO?

Is that old windbag still on the air?
However, it would be suicide to try to go to three all-news stations, after KGO's attempt to compete with powerhouse KCBS.
Even KGO is only moving to all-news in the afternoon and evenings only.

At least I won’t have to listen to ABC News... I guess Glenn Beck is being taken off 910?

This is Clear Channel - who owns Premier Radio and the rights to Rush - exercising their rights to move Rush to their own stations. They have had the right to do this for year.
In the past, they had used their own stations for music, etc, and also made money on other stations they did not own by selling them Rush’ show. In other words, they were making money all over every market with music and with Rush.
Now with music failing - they have brought Rush to their own stations all across the country to save those stations. They did it over a year ago in dozens of markets. It is a symptom of the music format dying.
lol
They(KSFO) should never have laid off Melanie morgan. Lee Rodgers was a jerk. Brian Sussman? A whining Bozo. Nuff said.

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzt!
I don't think the station will survive very long in this format without Limbaugh.
KKSF isn’t confirming it yet either.
Is this another FReeRepublic scoop?
Her husband, the general manger, laid her off. Go figure...
When Farid Suleman was running Citadel, he seemed to make it his mission to destroy AM conservative talk radio by ousting long-time local hosts and time-delaying national shows in order to break the live participatory experience of talk radio.
Suleman fired Melanie Morgan from KSFO, and a few years later he fired Lee Rodgers, even though KSFO was a money-maker station for his network.
Brian Sussman was elevated to morning host to replace Rodgers, but in my opinion he hasn't filled the big shoes he followed. Sussman brought back the call-in aspect which Rodgers detested, and Sussman has carved out a niche for himself with his prior meteorology experience to challenge global climate change fanatics.
However, I find him a bit weak and over the top when he fills in for Mark Levin in the evenings. I actually found KMJ's Inga Barks to be a more appealing afternoon host in Levin's absence.
I'm anxious to see what's next for KSFO in the post-Limbaugh era.

I’m happy as long as LRon Paul doesn’t get a talk show.
The more local station bumps Limbaugh for women's college B-ball, as well as men's and college hockey, too. I really hate those tournaments...
