OK.

The virus is totally gone, as far as I can tell. But so is the ability of the computer to access the wireless router.

It no longer knows what drive is the wifi or its ‘location’ and the wifi thinks its IP address is 0.0.0.0

I have no idea how to fix that, not the foggiest. I am going to try to connect it by wire and see if that works.

Remember it was a borrowed computer and I need to make it work properly again.

So, I would not recommend Combofix! I suppose the virus had hijacked the network drive but I need to repair this thing.
