Ah, everything a progressive touches fails. You would think they would get a clue by now, but noooooo.
We’re from the government and we’re here to feed you.
I wonder how many of these purchasers of black market food are actually on the “free lunch” program.
Amazing how quickly having a couple of Marxists in the White House can lead to America starting to look like the old USSR.
I also wonder if Michelles two girls are subjected to such food torture at their private school. Hummm, I would like to see the lunch menu. Being from Louisiana we eat a lot of Jambalaya - everyone has their own recipe and it is usually delicious - but hardly the first choice of young kids. I can’t imagine what the school’s Jambalaya tasted like taking out the Louisiana twist - uck.
I will make a bet that the chef at the school is bought and paid for by us and the menu is prepared in accordance with the Obama’s dictate.
Typical of Democrat cretins: “Slop from the pig trough for thee, but not for me.”
Me' thinks she should eat this garbage herself, and then let us know the results.
But the free market took over and the kids found decent "awful" food to eat in school. Good for them!
Meanwhile behind closed WH doors the Obama’s munch on fried chicken, cheeseburgers,
BBQ ribs, fries and Cokes.
Well maybe diet Pepsi to reduce calories. Barry likes his ice cream cones too dontchyaknow.
Apparently even the Teachers must comply with this idiocy and after my kid started showing up with illegal condiments many other kids did also now the teachers do as well.
I imagine they’d go ballistic if they saw my kids’ Tabasco ;-)
You are carrying on in a great tradition. Ronald Reagan used to carry around an eyedropper full of saccharin to put in his coffee when it was banned.
Unreal - Years ago our elementary school added on a new cafeteria (replacing the combo cafe/gym) including all the new ovens, grill, etc. They were no longer allowed to fry anything so potatoes were oven baked and none of the kids would eat them. The lunch ladies were complaining too because they knew what the kids wanted but they had to cook according to district edicts. This was 15 years ago - I can’t imagine how much worse it has gotten.
So, did some of these kids learn a valuable lesson about the failure of central planning?
As a Special Education Teacher’s Assistant, I noticed that all the “good, healthy” food was dumped in the trash, while you could expect “Pizza and tater tot day” the food would be consumed. To me, the new “healthy” food is delicious. However, to the kids all we see is food getting dumped on a grand scale. My fellow teachers and I just shake our heads at the waste when we see food getting thrown away.
If you want kids to enjoy healthy foods, it has to start at home, before school age.
Just an abrupt transition from chicken nuggets to leaves and twigs is destined to fail.
You can’t just serve it and they’ll chose it, like it’s a magnetic attraction. At home, I can require the kids to take a “courtesy bite” of something they’ve never had before. They can’t require that at school.
Also, it can take something like 16 tries of a new food for a little kid to decide that they like it and will eat it voluntarily. Nobody is standing around in a school cafeteria checking to see that kids have tried a new food often enough to develop a taste for it.
This lunch conversion isn’t working without parents who are willing to put real effort in at home to cook healthy, tasty, whole food.
Kids starving to avoid pad Thai. Kids GOING HUNGRY (cause my kids wouldn’t eat that).
Well, I guess it really will help obesity. Sorry all you non-fat kids, guess you’ll just get skinnier.
