I worked high up in the legal department at Countrywide Financial Services in the mid `90s for about 18 months. IMHO it was a den of vipers and not a single one of the executives I dealt with could I ever trust. That does include a few brief encounters with Angelo.

I’ve always been surprised that Countrywide became so reckless after working so hard to remain an independent company while other competitors fell by the wayside. I guess you’re saying they were always vipers and that it was inevitable they would destroy the company.
