Poles Confront the Dark Side [lifting the silence around anti-semitism in Poland]
>> After all, we Jews tend to be extremely out of step with the majority of Americans, who tend to be slightly right of center
Jews seemed to be pretty much in step with the election of their nemesis. Strange.
When the majority of Jews stand for Life, the missteps with the Right will be less left-footed.
I’ll tell you who’s bucking for more antisemitism in America, and that’s Sirius XM. I pay for this service in my car, which includes the “Spa” channel, which runs the gamut from elevator music to what I call “extreme ambient”. Well, I find it relaxing, and I use it to avoid road rage. So today I’m driving to the doctor, fretting over what my BP reading might be, on which much hinges. So ... relax ... Spa. I put it on ... what is this ... THE HAPPY HANUKKAH CHANNEL ?!?!?!? Bang! Zoom!
Now, I’m totally pro Israel and pro Jew. In fact, I’m the next thing to a Jew, but in a case like this I’m suddenly channeling Lawrence Olivier in MARATHON MAN ... “Juden!”
Well, my reading was good, so hopefully everything’s back to normal.
Guess they didn’t interview anyone at the ever-increasing number of mosques being built here.
I think there’s plenty. It just comes mainly from self-loating Jews.
Question for any Jewish Freepers: Why do some Jewish names sound more like Spanish or Italian last names? Caruba. (George) Costanza. Etc. Just curious.
Thanks very much for this posting. I am saving it.
Those folks are Sephardic Jews, from places like Spain, Tunisia, and Morrocco.
Because we’re not all Paulbots
What do I win?
Because the advent of successful nose jobs have made many Jews less visibly noticeable?
Thanks for that link. I read the article and am glad there is discussion in Poland about the crimes against their own Jewish citizens after the war, but disagree it had anything to do specifically with Poles being anti-Semitic but rather stems from communism itself.
You’ve definitely got a point.
The answer relates to the fact that many Christian conservatives read and believe the Bible when it says:
Genesis 12
The Call of Abram
1 The LORD had said to Abram, Leave your country, your people and your fathers household and go to the land I will show you.
2 I will make you into a great nation
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you.
From the time I was a young girl I was taught to honor the Jewish people because God told us to do so in Genesis 3: 3. I’ve taught my children the same. So no matter how many Saul Alinskys are in the world, I will obey my God. I figure He knows more than me.
Sorry, typo. God told us to honor the Jews in Genesis 12:3.
It wasn’t very long ago that anti-semitism was condoned here in America. WWII started the process which made it unacceptable... and by the late 70’s/early 80s... most of the vestigal traces had been removed. Now, it’s so shocking to see it, that it makes the news.
There was a good movie from the time that illustrated the soft bigotry that existed. It was called ‘Gentleman’s Agreement’.

Just as an illustration of that, just look at the number of hospitals that have “Sinai” or “Israel” as part of their name. Those were set up by Jews because American hospitals would refuse to hire... or even sometimes... treat Jews. Universities, golf courses, hotels used to be the same.
And the elderly still remember experiencing it. Helping to explain why so many still vote Democrat (old memories and a failing ability to reason).
Check out the rapid Ron Paul supporters. I figure around 75% hate Israel and Jews.
I did not know this. We’ve definitely come a long way.
Come to think of it, I remember being in London a long time ago at the airport having missed my flight and while waiting in line seeing an old man two people in front of me who talked loudly and flung spittle when he talked. I remember thinking, “This must be what is called a New York Jew.” I was a vociferous reader and must have picked up the “New York Jew” label somewhere in my reading.
This man turned out to be one of the nicest people I’ve ever met and my seatmate for the interminable flight home. I have never forgotten his many kindnesses to me, a young girl far away from home who had missed her flight. And yes, he was a Jew from New York.
I haven’t been following all the recent Ron Paul stuff. I’ve read some of his writings in the past and like what he says. You say some of his rabid supporters are anti-Semites. Is he?
