I guess a lot of Conservatives have to have a pretty difficult time with 4th grade arithmetic to add 18 to month 7 and get month 37. The author figured it out in 2009 some years after she wrote it originally. Mostly mothers do arithmetic on dates like this and they have a pretty good idea when their only kid was born. In looking at the hard data time line I posted earlier, you can see that Roman in fact might have arrived as late as February of 1961 but the add 18 to July of 59 gets you to almost exactly the date when Roman did arrive at the Tout boarding house which kind of makes you think Mary knew what she was talking about when she said it.
